Sarah Jane Smith is a Doctor Who companion, played by Elisabeth Sladen, who travelled with the Third and Fourth Doctors in the 1970s.

She returned to the programme for a guest appearance in 2006, and is now starring in her own spin-off, The Sarah Jane Adventures, the fourth series of which is coming soon to CBBC.
