Quotes:

• ‘Yes, Harris, back to London – and the beginning of the end for Sarah Jane Smith…’ - Sarah's mysterious enemy...
• ‘Well, are you going to cash my cheque or not?’ ‘Possibly not… Not immediately.’ ‘What now, do you need my fingerprints, or do I have to take a blood test?’ ‘Two gentlemen have just come into the bank.’ ‘Well, what of it?’ ‘They’re wearing black balaclavas and carrying sawn-off shotguns. I rather think we’re about to be held up.’ – Mr Venables and Sarah
• ‘Who did that? Did you do that?’ ‘Who, me? Oh, listen – there’s a direct link to the local station – I’d run for it if I were you!’ ‘Smug bitch! I’ll blow your head off!’ - A bank robber and Sarah
• ‘Former Planet Three investigative reporter and all-round loser.’ – Harris, on Sarah. Pah!
• ‘Not everything revolves around you, Sarah – I expect it’s entirely coincidental.’ ‘Oh, Nat, you know very well, we don’t do coincidences, never have. And these days, I’m suspicious of even a whiff of one.’ - Nat and Sarah
• ‘That’s what journalism’s all about, Josh – spinning yarns.’ - Sarah
• ‘SJ?’ ‘Eee! I told you to stay outside!’ ‘I got bored!’ - Josh surprises Sarah as she sneaks around the bank
• ‘Are you all right in the head? This could be dangerous!’ ‘Look, Josh, if you want out, I understand. Really I do. No grudges held. But if you’re with me, you’ve got to be really with me. I won’t pretend this is going to be easy or fun, but I have to know what’s going on. Someone’s messing with my life – I can’t sit back, I have to act. It’s what I do. I know this is a trap, but I have to spring it.’ - Josh and Sarah
• ‘Now, if we’re going on a journey, we shall need Ethel.’ ‘Ethel? Who’s Ethel, your maiden aunt? Or your cat?’ ‘Ethel’s my car.’ - Sarah and Josh
• ‘Look, there’s Ethel, bless her!’ ‘A red Volkswagen beetle? Oh my God…’ ‘Well, I’m so sorry if you’re used to a better class of getaway car!’ ‘You were a hippy, weren’t you? Peace, love and crap transport! Still, could be worse, could be one of those Volkswagen buses…’ ‘Oh, just get in!’ - Sarah and Josh
• ‘All right, so, tell me where…’ ‘Tell you what where?’ ‘You whiz me to Victoria, shove me onto this coach – where are we going?’ ‘Well, you know where we’re going – to the country. You know, green fields and stuff…’ ‘Oh, haha… Why?’ ‘Well, how about to avoid getting mown down or blown up?’ ‘Fair enough.’ - Josh and Sarah
• ‘Um, does an expression containing the words “frying pan” and “fire” ring any bells with you? We’re supposed to be heading somewhere safe to lay low, and instead we’re probably heading straight for trouble!’ ‘Oh, don’t be such a misery-knickers, Josh – how much trouble can there be in a peaceful English village?’ - Josh and Sarah
• ‘Come on, Josh, cheer up – there’s bound to be a village inn at Cloots Coombe – think of it! Mugs of ale, blazing fire…’ ‘Sinister inbred yokels sharpening their scythes… Don’t you know what happens to wandering strangers in the movies?’ ‘What?’ ‘The local yokels all turn out to be mad devil worshippers – haven’t you seen The Wicker Man? It won’t be a blazing fire that’s waiting for us, it’ll be a blazing sacrifice…’ ‘If you go on talking like that, you’ll attract it! You know you’re trouble? Panic!’ I’m not panicking… a bit nervous, maybe…’ ‘No,no, I mean panic in the real old-fashioned sense, a fear of the great god Pan, a dread of the ancient powers of the countryside. It always strikes in open spaces – so just stop it.’ ‘You’re not helping, you know.’ - Sarah and Josh
• ‘You’ve got half the world’s authorities on your tail and, well, you’re getting more… uneasy…’ ‘Oh, say it, Ellie – paranoid. Everybody else does.’ - Ellie and Sarah
• ‘We journalists in hiding are used to rejection!’ - Sarah
• ‘That’s how this business works, Josh – one thing leads to another. You can’t make a plan, you just have to improvise.’ - Sarah
• ‘Still, you know what they say – a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.’ ‘Learning, actually.’ ‘I’m sorry?’ ‘Oh, it’s one of those quotations everyone always gets wrong – a little learning is a dangerous thing.’ – The Squire and Sarah
• ‘You in for the long haul?’ ‘We’re a team, SJ. I’ve not had that feeling before… Yeah. I’m in for the long haul.’ ‘Two things, Josh…’ ‘I know, I know, no more “SJ”…’ ‘Actually, I was going to say thank you, for everything you’ve done these last few days. And secondly…’ ‘Yep?’ ‘Keep your bloody mobile phone on in future, ok?’ - Sarah and Josh

Sarah_JaneSmith: I'm sad Lavinia died, Josh is a little annnoying [to me anyway] and Nat's awesome! Good opening story but i've heard better. 5/10
Llin: It takes a while to get going because all the characters have to be introduced, so the plot isn't what it might have been, but I still love this! 8/10
