Eye of the Gorgon This story guide contains spoilers for Parts One and Two of Eye of the Gorgon, read no further if you don't want to know what happens in these episodes!![]() Story: Eye of the Gorgon, The Sarah Jane Adventures Episode Three and Four Synopsis: Sarah and the kids investigate reports of a ghostly nun at a rest home for the elderly, and one of the residents, Bea Nelson-Stanley, gives Luke an ancient talisman to look after and tells him that the nuns are after it. The gang discover that the nuns are protecting the Gorgon, a creature from mythology which is really an alien, living inside their Abbess – the nuns kidnap Luke, and demand that Sarah give them the talisman for his safe return. Sarah refuses at first, and Alan is turned to stone! At the Abbey, Luke and Clyde escape and find out that the Gorgon needs the talisman to bring the other Gorgon to Earth, but they are recaptured along with Sarah Jane, who will be the new host of the Gorgon. Maria talks to Bea and finds out that the talisman can turn her father back to how he was, and also finds out how to defeat the Gorgon. She rushes to the Abbey and saves Sarah and the boys just in time! Then, they rush back to Bannerman Road to turn Alan back to normal. It's hysteria, Miss Smith! It's as simple as that.' 'Perhaps. Or maybe it's a cry for attention.' - The manager of Lavender Lawns, and Sarah • 'So what's going on then? Is this place haunted or not?' 'I don't know – but there's something about it here I don't like…' - Clyde and Sarah, on the rest home • 'So, no obvious reason for the home to be haunted by a nun, then?' 'I assume that by 'haunting' you mean the projection of energies imprinted on psychic assimilating matter?' 'Obviously.' 'Come again?' 'Events get recorded on their surroundings, then under certain circumstances they get played back.' - Sarah, Mr Smith, and Clyde, and is that almost a reference to Ghosts of N-Space? • 'It's so sad – the things she must have seen, and now everyone just thinks she's crazy.' 'Yeah, well, who knows where any of us will end up?' - Maria and Sarah, on Bea • 'You know sometimes people have thought I've been mad, but I've seen things too, just like you!' - Sarah, to Bea • 'It's a fairy story, isn't it?' 'A myth, a Greek myth. There's a big difference! And incidentally, for future reference Maria, even some fairy tales have a foundation in fact!' - Maria and Sarah • 'The Greeks were always dishing out challenges to each other! I think it must be a man thing…' - Sarah • 'Where's she taken Luke, any idea?' 'Oh, I dunno, she was from some abbey!' 'Well obviously, she's a nun!' - Sarah and Clyde • 'So much for fake ID…' - Sarah, when the nuns see right through her… • 'So what do you think you were doing, getting into a stranger's car? For an intelligent boy, sometimes, oh, I can't believe how stupid you are!' - Sarah, to Luke • 'Kidnapping, turning people to stone? Oh no, no, no, not the kind of things that make me feel reasonable!' - Sarah, to the nasty nuns • 'You were right, I never should have let any of you get involved.' 'I'm sorry about what I said, it's not your fault. I wanted to see aliens – who wouldn't?' 'If there's a way of saving your dad, Maria, I know you're going to do it!' - Sarah and Maria • 'We will be at peace everlasting! And you shall be our Queen. To receive the Gorgon, do not look into its eyes, Miss Smith. To do so will turn you to stone.' 'I'd rather be a lump of granite than bow down to that thing!' - Sister Helena and Sarah • 'She was lucky to have Edgar, wasn't she?' 'I suppose she was!' 'Don't you ever wish you had found someone special to share it all with?' 'Oh, I think I have. For the second time!' - Maria and Sarah Wardrobe Appreciation The coat from Invasion of the Bane is back! It shall henceforth be known as the Coat of Awesome. She's got the bag again, too. The rest is cool too! 9/10 Sarah Watch: Sarah_JaneSmith: Oh she's so cute with Maria, I liked how she was all angry with her for slamming the door then she was all like "Marias my favourite!" she was so cool in the rest of it too, i loved it when she was tied up and stuff, and hey, she may be south of 60 but she can still scale a wall like a pro 10/10 paranoidangel: She was good in this, getting excited about Sontarans, climbing a wall, trying to rescue everyone, and then getting tied up as per usual for Sarah. 9/10 Llin: She's adorable when she's sad! And climbing around. And defying evil nuns. God, I love her! 10/10 Story Watch: Sarah_JaneSmith: There was nothing about this story i didnt like, even the bits with Marias mum were ok, creepy nuns and gorgons make for excellent tv! especially when Sarahs in the mix! 10/10 paranoidangel: I really enjoyed this story. Some of it was a bit obvious but I suppose it was aimed at kids. 8/10 Llin: Wicked fun! Nice to see a dungeon again.
