Quotes:

• ‘She’s like a butterfly – never in one place long enough to lick a stamp.’ - Aunt Lavinia on Sarah
• ‘Look, what’s the idea?’ ‘I got fed up waiting.’ ‘Oh, you got fed up waiting!’ ‘I’d take a taxi, but I haven’t got enough money...’ ‘No, no, I’m on my way.’ ‘Thanks.’ ‘Hmm. He got fed up waiting. Can’t wait to meet him.’ - Sarah, on the phone to Brendan
• ‘I’m here to write a book, not be a surrogate mum.’ - Sarah lays it on the line for Brendan
• ‘Brendan, stop honking!’ - Sarah
• ‘Where are you from, K9?’ ‘From the Doctor.’ ‘From the Doctor?’ ‘Affirmative!’ ‘Well you can’t mean, well, the Doctor?’ ‘My precise meaning, Mistress – a gift to you.’ ‘Oh, Doctor, you didn’t forget...’ - Sarah and K9
• ‘The Doctor last spoke in 1978 Earth Years, he said: Give Sarah Jane Smith my fondest love, tell her I shall remember her always.’ - K9... aaawww!!!
• ‘Knock that back, it’ll make you less prickly!’ ‘I’m sorry, I didn’t realise I was being prickly!’ - Juno and Sarah
• ‘Oh... you don’t believe a word of this, do you?’ ‘My dear, you’re upset...’ ‘Yes, of course I’m upset! The police politely suggesting I’m nuts, and you humouring me! I didn’t imagine it! I’m compos mentis and an experienced journalist!’ - Sarah and Juno

Wardrobe Appreciation

Before we get started on the outfits for this one, I'd just like to remind everyone that it was the Eighties, and everyone makes mistakes...
Sarah wears several outfits just in the title sequence, the first of which is this:

... which is relatively inoffensive, even if the hair is a bit strange. That's quickly followed by this one:

... which we don't see much of, but looks fine to me.
Brace yourselves...

I told you. Although, even in this abomination, she looks pretty cute perched on a wall, whereas poor K9 just looks silly...

How did he get up there, hmm?
Anyway, the next one is a bit more sensible...

Now, the next one, as we get into the story proper, is the big one. It's made of about a zillion layers. Layer one is a cloak-ish type thing, and a rather nice scarf.

We get a bit of a better look when the scarf comes off:

The cloak bit comes off, and there's more underneath:

And underneath that there's a shirt, and trousers, if you can believe it...

And another variation later on:

But that's not all, oh no.
Those of a nervous disposition may want to look away now...

Don't say I didn't warn you.
The next one makes up for it, though. A nice, sensible suit.

With adorable accessories! Check out the aeroplane brooch, and the headband:

Next is a kimono...

And the most horrific hairy jumper...

Luckily, though, she soon puts on a coat, which helps a bit:

The jogging outfit from the credits gets another look-in, combined with a frankly terrifying cardigan:

Loving the green wellies, though. Not to mention the awesome gloves:

And the sartorial extravanganza finally ends with this bright green masterpiece:

Phew!

The Panel Said...

Style Watch:

paranoidangel:I thought some of her outfits in the 70s were bad but I think these beat all of them hands down for someone going in and burning her wardrobe. The suit's not so bad, and the wellies are cool, the hair is dodgy though. 1/10
Llin: Some of this is really dreadful, but I really like the suit and that many-layered brown thing. And the beret is the cutest! 5/10
Sarah_JaneSmith: I'm totally digging her jogging outfit, i love it! i dont like the rest of the outfits though, well actually i do quite like that hairy jumper. 5/10

Sarah Watch:

paranoidangel: I have to admit that I've only actually seen the first ten minutes and the very ending, which seemed like enough. So can't really rate this.
Llin: She's grumpy and she doesn't take any crap, and she knows martial arts! 7/10
Sarah_JaneSmith: Why is she so moody? cheer up woman, it's christmas!! 8/10

Story Watch:

paranoidangel: I lost the will to live when Lavinia was talking to her friend about Sarah and Brendan. Which wasn't that far in. It might improve but since Lis Sladen hates the idea of people having seen it, I can't quite bring myself to bother. 0/10
Llin: Meh. It could be worse. 5/10
Sarah_JaneSmith: : I have mixed feelings about this, sometimes i love it, sometimes i hate it, Lavinias great though, i miss her :( and Brendan's awesome even if he is a bit of a drip, K9's great too! 5/10
