Spin-offs are big business – just look how well The Sarah Jane Adventures is doing! In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if the spin-off got its own spinoff… here are a few ideas the BBC are probably considering right now

A comfy afternoon lady sleuths show –
Sarah Jane needs someone else to have adventures with while the kids are at school – just little ones that she can fit in before Luke comes home for his tea! Who do we know that’s in the area, at a bit of a loose end, and sneaky and observant enough to help out when a minor mystery shows up?

A daytime home and cookery show –
Gita and Haresh are the perfect couple to front a cheery mid-morning show – Haresh can handle the cookery section and the debates on the youth of today, while Gita talks flower arranging and fills us in on the latest showbiz gossip.

A comedy double act –
Comedy is big business, and in between saving the world, SJ and the gang have plenty of the funny. What we need is a wisecracking cool guy, and someone else to be the exasperated straight man…

An angsty teen drama –
It’s all very well having teenagers fighting aliens, say the executives, but look how interesting it is when they shout at each other, look moody sitting in playgrounds and stare sadly into the middle distance. And also laugh and hug. Let’s make a show with more of that stuff!
