It has been suggested that he was a lonely child and didn't quite fit in. We can probably assume that, at the age of eight, he was required to look into the Time Vortex as a rite of passage like all Time Lords. Career: The Doctor seems to have spent several centuries roaming the galaxy, getting himself and a string of companions – often, but not exclusively, young human women – into and out of trouble in various different times and places. He has been responsible for saving the universe more than once, and individual planets and races countless times. He has also been appointed President of the High Council of Gallifrey at least twice, and has also been exiled and punished by the Time Lords for his disregard for the Laws of Time. He was employed by the United Nations Intelligence Taskforce on Earth for some time as a scientific adviser, although it seems he was never paid. Trivia: • The Doctor is proficient in Venusian Aikido • The Doctor is fond of jelly babies • He is a skilled swordsman • Historical figures the Doctor has met include Shakespeare, H.G. Wells, Marco Polo, Queen Victoria, Leonardo Da Vinci and Madame de Pompadour |
